Stupid warfare...

I stumbled on this photo from a military "skirmish" (if you can call it that!) during the Phillipine-American war in 1899. These are American soldiers shooting at Phillipine "insurgents" in a Phillipine Jungle. Who shoots with their entire upper bodies set up on a hill like a bull's eye with their commanders standing behind them?

The range of the guns was limited, and the precision awful. You needed great skill to shoot targets you can see in an open field. When the environment incorporates obstacles, such as trees, the task would be even more difficult. Those commanders are extremely safe.

Well that's over 100 years apart so with improvement in the technology employed obviously it has to look foolish weighing to the current standard.

To day Philippines has one of the best trained special forces known. Only rivalling malysia and Taiwan

Watch a documentary titled special forces

It depends on what weapons your enemy has.
Kama ni mishale, you can lock and load in no rush as long as you are out of the range of the mishale. And when you shoot,it's not a wasted bullet.
