The British (and the Christian Church at large) lazily and racially classified many of Kenyan tribal rituals as “barbaric, primitive and repugnant”. They bundled muratina, busaa, chang’aa as unfit even when they are nutritionally and hygienically superior to their junguu’s concoctions.

Yet Mzungu everywhere is very proud of their cultural rites including alcoholic and sexual shenanigans.
The ardent Catholic Irish and Scots recognise Jameson and Whisky as part and parcel of their lives.
Why then would muratina be wrong, illegal and immoral when it is a drink accompanying food and dance, burials and coming of age? A drink sealing covenants of sale of land, dowries ruracio, anointment of Muthamaki or passing of a generation (ituika)?

It is time for justice and ethnocentrism to reign supreme and allow tribes to practice and exercise their cultures without threats or intimidations while being respected by others.

You forgot the arrival and blessings of a child too.

I support. Muthungu has been enjoying muratina while all along it has been banned in its original home hapa Central. Infact we should be exporting Muratina the way mzungu has been exporting Johnnie Walker, Jameson etc to we kenyans. @Matiige Waana.
