The family of the four kins who were brutally murdered in Kiambu is now crying for help after two thugs ambushed them in a bid to steal the money that had been contributed for their loved ones' sendoff.

To unfortunate incident has now forced the family to request the government to provide security for them until the deceased are buried.

Allan Warunge, a neighbour and one of the deceased's brother, narrated that he had been alerted of two people who wanted to intrude into the home.

"I was alerted by the security guards at around 12:30 at night that there two people who wanted to open the gate, both on the left and the right side. I called the chief immediately and he called the OCPD. They acted with speed," Allan told Kameme TV.


Further, he urged the government to provide them with security, fearing that they could be in danger.

"We cannot sleep because we keep feeling like we will be attacked. The security guards fear that there were more than two people who came to the house," he added.

Kiambaa OCPD Muchiri Nyaga confirmed the incident, saying that the thugs wanted to steal money.

On his part, Allan stated that there was no money in the home, adding that the burial committee was in charge of all the funds.


Lawrence Warunge, an IT University student, has since confessed to killing his father Nicholas Njoroge Warunge, his mother wife Ann Wanjiku, their adopted nephew Maxwell Njenga, his brother Christian Njenga Njoroge and farmhand James Kinyajui Wambaa on the night of January 5 in Karura Village, Kiambu County.

He would later lead detectives to the spot where he disposed of the murder weapons and other key exhibits at a pit latrine in Mai Mahiu.

Kinyanjui was buried on Wednesday, January 13, while the four family members will be buried on Saturday, January 16.
