Thanks everyone so far for your useful tips on solar. I have been up and down hunting for a reputable solar brand as suggested by listers. I checked on Victron and almost fainted. That one is out of my price range for now. I settled on Felicity solar, tracked it down in Nyamakima and got the specs below.

Thanks. I have not done the purchase yet because the price is a bit high. I am still shopping to find if i can get the same at a lower price

Also the inverter is high frequency so anything like a water pump might be a problem in the near future.
For the battery at that price you can get BYD Premium Solar Battery LV FLEX 5.0 kWh which will most probably have better build quality than the felicity.

I missed that one, but I will use it sparingly until I am in the position to get the low frequency one as I understand its 180k. Ama kuna more affordable ones?

I know I should not tell you how to use your money but if I was in your shoes I would get four panels for now and use the 80k to get a 5kva low frequency inverter which will be equipped with an option to parallel in future and also comes with dual mppt strings .This will allow you to buy more panels in future with same rating as the Jinko or different rating and have that set on second string .Also the hybrid inverter you get at that price point will have a very good mppt and negligible zero load draw (less than 30 watts).

I prefer separating charge controller from inverter for several reasons.It makes the system more modular and easy to upgrade or diagnose problems. In case of failure you don’t lose a lot.

@Jasusi think about the upgrade ability you want for the future, it might be worth buying a smaller inverter with the ability to parallel more in the future if you need more power
