So Sad. I weep for my motherland

To destroy your point, those desert countries are making effort in the agri field, when it comes to dairy and daily consumption veggies
True! I was at a Dubai Hotel and was surprised to find out that the milk at the hotel was locally produced. Went on further to check out the website of the dairy company. Was pleasantly surprised

Corruption and failure to prioritize key sectors have left the country broke thus taxing sectors like Agricultural production and processing instead of subsidizing their activities. Case in point there should be policies to protect the citizenry from monopolistic bluechips like safaricom and banks from exploitative biz practices and ensure contribute more to the exchequer. Idle land should be taxed, Fees for International Tour operators should who receive payment offshore and only remmit a small percentage to cover logistical costs of tourists.... And as indicated by other listers it does not take rocket science to process and add value to Agricultural products........
But if you take a deeper look all these sectors have been captured by the dynasties......

how can .ke have the capacity to provide fabric when it has been debating whether to adopt Bt cotton for more than ten years?
When we finally settle for that variety , utapata tume subdivide all the productive land to 1/8 acres .
Socfinaf coffee farms (Tatu ,Ruera ,Oakland ) had very many dams for irrigation but hiyo land inauzwa and subdivided kujenga maisonette and bungalows .Later utasikia residents wanasema the dams are posing a risk wanataka the government to drain them .Whereas the land would have been very productive agricultural land for commercial mechanised farming .How hard can it be to do things right ?
