Police in Nyeri have nabbed counterfeit alcohol worth thousands of shillings at a residential house in Skuta.
The operation was led by Nyeri County Commissioner Mohammed Barre who said the counterfeit brands of Diamond and Santa King concoction was distributed within Nyeri Town and its environs.
Barre noted that its a shame to the area Administration officers who kept mum on the ongoing illegal business in the area and they should have alerted police to take action.
This comes amid calls from the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and local leaders to end the drug menace in Central Kenya noting that the young generation will be wiped out by second generation brews.
