National Integrity Alliance (NIA) has forwarded the names of 25 politicians who it says should be barred from contesting any seat in the 2022 general election.

Among those forwaded include William Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Governor Anne Waiguru, Babu Owino, and Aisha Jumwa.

“Rigathi Gachagua was implicated in graft resulting in action by the Assets and Recovery Authority freezing accounts with approximately Ksh200 million in unexplained assets,” NAI said.

Also in the list are Ali Korane (Garissa), Cleophas Malala (Kakamega), Daniel Manduku (Nyaribari Chache), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Evans Kidero (Homa Bay), Fahim Twaha (Lamu), Godhana Dadho (Tana River), Johana Ngeno (Emurua Dikir), John Waluke (Sirisia), Gembi Gitura (Murang’a), Lilian Omolo (Embu), Mathew Lempurkel (Laikipia North), and Mike Sonko (Mombasa).

Others are MohamedAbdiMohamud (Wajir), Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi), Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Philip Kaloki (Nairobi), Samson Cherargei (Nandi) Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) and Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia).
