Stupidity. Naivas did the right thing by taking legal action. How many cases of shoplifting do you think Naivas deals with in a single day in all their branches? They owe it to their investors,employees and customers to have a proper process to deal with such incidents. Shoplifting causes millions of losses to retailers every year, if not controlled businesses fall due such thefts. People loose jobs,landlords loose rent,governement looses tax etc. You be lenient with 1 person and every wanna be thug targets your business as the word spreads of your merciful nature. Utamalizwa na stupid shenanigans everyday. The court might have been severe in it's punishment and that can be appealed but Naivas did the right thing by following the legal process.
