Swahili is where we stop at , it’s our national language and everyone speaks it and it’s taught in school for 16 good years , English too.
In my opinion for us to move forward even vernacular media stations need to speak broadcast in Swahili or get shut down. This is the bigger picture to stop the divide and tribalism that is eating into our country.

This lady , seems to be trying to learn to speak English . Commendable for her effort but people are taking it negatively .

If the English had followed your advice, they would be speaking Latin, I hereby disagree, tribalism is not brought about by speaking different languages, it's exclusivism and the we versus them notion, In resources mobilization and access.
People can speak the same language but still discriminate against each other, Somalia being a case study.

We should do the opposite. Let's teach our native languages in schools! Let's teach Somali in Kiambu, Gikuyu in Baringo, Dholuo in Meru. Lets get to know and appreciate each others culture!

Remember about the violence in 2008. Some of the slum kids that were fighting didn't even know how to speak their native languages. They simply joined the side they were cultured to identify with.

Facts. In fact, everyone should be proud of their background. The big NO is thinking of your tribe as being better or superior to others. No Alphabet affiliation but, like a rainbow, beauty comes about through unity despite the differences.
