An employee of Safaricom was on Thursday charged with illegally obtaining Sh1.4 million by adjusting Fuliza limits for different Sim cards.

Dennis Mutethia Muga denied the charge before Kibera senior principal magistrate Monica Maroro.

A police report indicates that the accused person was employed at the company as an engineer of financial services system planning and dealt with software.

The charge sheet states that Muga allegedly committed the offence between October 24 and 31.

Preliminary investigations show that on October 24, 30 and 31, Fuliza limits of 14 lines were irregularly adjusted to abnormal limits ranging between Sh100,000 and Sh10 million.Police say the accused stole the said amount by allowing other people who purported to be his friends to use different Safaricom lines to increase their Fuliza limit from Sh3,500 to Sh50,000 and then get credit through Fuliza amounting to Sh1.4 million.

Muga urged the court to release him on lenient bond terms.

He told the court that he was not a flight risk and requested to be supplied with witness statements that the prosecution would rely on during the entire trial.

That's why the criminal part in a few of us always leads us to Odeon and other places where they display lost IDs...
We must make something grow out of this concrete jungle...
