To build a united country, unfortunately these languages will have to die out. If everyone sticks to their indigenous language, it becomes harder to form a united nation, otherwise, tribalism haitawahi isha.Swahili may be an indigenous african language but to truly preserve our heritage it is our vernacular languages that we should do everything possible to ensure we pass on to the next generation,it makes no sense to champion competence in speaking and writing swahili when you cannot hack your own people's language.
It is a good move, in the future swahili should be East Africa's official language.
One nation, one people, one language.
