Russia oil is too sweet

wrongturn

🇺🇲🇷🇺 The US government has allowed American companies to continue buying Russian oil via third-country banks, which have not joined in on sanctions against Russia. In effect, American companies will now pay unaffiliated banks for Russian oil, and that money will then be transferred to Russia.

Bankers in Hong Kong have already offered lucrative conditions as intermediaries.

In essence, Americans will now pay more for Russian oil, China-controlled banks will get a fat cut, and Russia will get just as much money as it did previously.
