Sasa gavanas don't want to tax their own people by collecting things like shops and liquor licence fees, market fees, parking fees. Unapata a whole county like Lamu, a tourism hotspot, collecting just Sh60 million in a year, not even enough to pay the gavana.

I think Kiambu collects about Sh2 billion in local revenues. Only counties like this should be allowed to exist.

true, I think all other counties should be disbanded, or rather they should not even get a cent until the day they learn to create wealth and collect taxes then we will allow them back, hakuna kubembeleza the lazy people, kazi yao ni kutembea tu na wanyama, they cant build roads, they cant build schools, they cant talk in english, very lazy guys. Until they learn hard work we should not entertain them, ati wapate pesa mob, pesa watu wa kiambu wametoa jasho kutengeneza, hakuna.

:) mimi napiga tu support hapa, actually I think we should not allow the likes of Samburu to elect governors hawajui ku elect straight people who can manage their counties well, what do you expect from lazy people who can not even build nyumba za mawe like the other hardworking kenyans.

Thats why I support the notion that, until they start working hard, we should not entertain their shenanigans ati pesa mingi, and they cant even elect a honest governor.

Do you know nairobi people built international airport, they have built superhighways, built dams, built good schools for their kids, very hard working chaps, and those in Samburu kazi ni kuzaa tu, hata barabara hawawezi tengeneza.

Samburu is going to elect the other one who stole maize money halafu akaenda kuringa huko kwao ati aliiba za adui.

Your sarcasm, or whatever you call it, is rather retarded. I have raised a very pertinent issue here, namely, the failure of counties to raise local revenues, relying only on expropriations from the Exchequer. The Katiba says counties must raise revenues through local taxes. Lamu County has thousands of fishing boats, bodas, shops, hotels and restaurants, bars, markets, etc etc etc and all they can raise is about 60 million a year? THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING A COUNTY, PERIOD!

As to your juvenile meffi tribalism against say the people of Kiambu, hiyo tumezoea. You should know that by now..............

:) sina ubaya, was just supporting your narrative, ndiri na thina na adu a nyumba. kiambu ni muhano tu dirahuthira. anyway :) mimi nakubaliana na wewe, those guys from Lamu should raise revenue from the fishermen and emulate kiambu, thats why I said we should not entertain the lazy guys who cant even collect local revenue to better themselves.

An also I support that they have no business being a county if they can not collect revenue and develop their own backyards, build schools, roads and stuff just like kiambu (just using that as an example, ama wacha I use kisumu).

If you look at kisumu they collect local revenue, I even saw they have some nice interchanges and nice roads, and airport, we should not allow the lazy guys to milk that money from kisumu, we expect them to build roads and schools and airports then we can allow them to become model counties like kisumu.
 
When our Mps from Mt Kenya struggle very much to divide the Bursary amongst many needy students who at last end up getting some even kshs 2,000, Honourable Members from North Eastern and their colleagues from Lamu struggle so much to look for students whom they can give bursary.
The fact is, most of the students from this parts of our country end up getting more than 100K per single student.

It's in those constituencies where you will get students sponsored even to study abroad under NGCDF Bursary.

We all know that this 'debate' is fueled by tenderprenuers and their beneficiaries. Only peanuts ndio zinafikia wananchi wa kawaida.

This debate would be useful only after the issue of irregularities in county expenditures has been fixed.
