It's almost impossible to sell it at 500k , assuming it's a January 2014 model then duty will be Kes 162,421.83 + plus around 40k for clearing and registration .
The same unit will incur usd 200 for inspection in Japan and around USD 700 to cater for shipping .( Using dollar rate of 115 this will be Ksh 103,500)
All this costs total to Ksh 305,921.83 .
So the actual car must have cost the seller Ksh 195 ,000 (FOB) assuming he is a charitable organization . Does this make sense to you ?
