Pombe Magufuli, retaliates

Sawa, but the taskforce is a temporary grouping to a permanent situation. Eventually they will have to create a permanent 'directorate' or something like that to deal with the virus. The point here is to have a forward thinking group of people who are able to make the right decisions and have a plan in place. Not doing the same thing over and over again and when asked they say that is what other governments are doing.
They can do better but they don't. Why,they work on models...no real facts and figures.
Look at this

Now have a look at this...

That's our problem right there. That's why they can not explain their actions coherently. They resort to threats and intimidation...na kwendia guoya!

I call it lack of leadership...the govt should be on overdrive re-assuring people that they are working on a way forward....

Have they prevented HIV from spreading really? Maybe what you mean is that people can take personal measures from contracting the virus?
How do they do that? Where do they get the knowledge. From among others, governments involvement in public education and sensitization drives.
In the backroom the same governments allow NGOs to operate, create enabling environments etc... Okay, that's the ideal situation!

You can prevent it once you learn how it speads, like with HIV, you use condoms. Some old fella might have told you that. With coronavirus, it's a bit more acrobatic, but it could start with you remembering to carry a face mask... and a condom.
Sawa but we are running off topic. It was about opening up the country, ofcourse with caution, and that extending the lockdown indefinitely is not helping the situation

1. We have locked down international air travel except Kenyans coming home.
2. We have locked down inter-county travel and insulated counties like Samburu, Isiolo, Nyeri and Nakuru.
3. We will be able to open inter-county travel as soon as once we manage to put communal spread under control.
4. We will never have international travel without an international treaty about this disease.

3. We will be able to open inter-county travel as soon as once we manage to put communal spread under control.
I agree with everything apart from this. Just like i said earlier today, the virus will continue spreading most likely by next week they will start announcing 70 new cases....what does controlling comnunal spread mean? Reporting 0 new cases?

interesting twist
Magufuli buried his sister today
didn't he recently say that his son recovered from covid 19

Thank you for this reply. The fact that we(as humans) still don't know a lot about this virus is enough reason as not to try and be stupid with it.

Let's all agree that Magufuli is blundering big time with how he responds

However, we as Kenyans are not better either since we are neither mass testing nor funding kemri/Training doctors or even providing PPE's to them. We dont even have an economic recovery plan. I think the next 3 years will be so bad over here that it will be better to move to other countries

I would like to make a few observations sir:

1. Mass testing is expensive. Every government in the world is competing for the same kits. We are not a very rich country. It follows that our resources must be targeted at the most crucial sectors.

2. Its tragic when frontline health workers are neglected. Post your evidence here or inbox me directly.

3. It's hard to make an economic recovery plan about a situation that's frequently changing. We are all making and adjusting plans.

Unless you are living under a rock

That Angela Aketch is the same one who did the fake story that traders are mopping up masks for re-export to China.
