Some time last year, Njoroge a cabbage farmer in Kinangop hired a Mitsubishi FH truck to take his farm produce to Gikomba market.
He travelled from Kinangofu and reached the market very early in the morning. The market was not very good due to competition and other dynamics (Kuendewa chinichini na mabroker). By 5 he had sold 1600/- worth of cabbages, @Meria, naye told him, "na ujue rori ikilala utanilipa 18k ingine".

Njoroge told Meria, wacha niende pale kwa @Mongrel nikule kakitu si unajua tulikuja mapema sana.
Njoroge kupiga kona mbili alichukua bodaa na kusimamia stage ya Tulaga, leaving the truck driver with the load of cabbage.

Cabbage farming is all about timing. If you are harvesting from mid Feb to early May you are in money. Most people will plant when it starts raining. If you have water (irrigation) this is the time to plant. March farm gate prices Huwa 50 and above. Ukipata schools you will sell at 20-35 bob(per KG)!!!
