good pointYou err in assuming the definition of democracy is the American definition.
but how long can an uprising last or what changes can it bring.Wait. You guys really believe that democracy works or has ever worked anywhere on earth?? The rich rule over the poor and it has been that way since biblical times. They rule directly or indirectly (financing a candidate's campaign).
However, it is important to keep telling the masses that they are in a democracy to prevent an uprising.
Democracy has never been in play anywhere including the usa. What the media and textbooks say is totally different from what happens on the ground. In every nation there is a ruling class and the public.
I did not say that I support an uprising.but how long can an uprising last or what changes can it bring.
i think the public/99% are more than the ruling class/1%, but the public needs the ruling class more than the ruling class needs the public.
and its coz the ruling class have the capability of providing services that the public cant provide.
and remember, Power changes everybody, so even if the public removes the ruling class, the replacements will most likely convert to the ruling class at some point. (the reason why I think most Revolutions fail)
agree.I did not say that I support an uprising.
An uprising would not change anything and would likely lead to loss of wealth and lives. After an uprising, a new ruling class would be formed to continue from where the former ruling class left. Man is designed to function in a society where there are rulers and followers. We can't all be rulers and it's like that by design because humans are not equal.
