@okiya Ghana sets precedence

I think countries were imposing lockdowns to monitor the situation and now
After hadithi za number of cases and deaths? Nooooooo.

Those are doomsayer's the disease is here with us but in modern day world we shall adapt to live with it,unless you tell me that even if the virus goes past the end of the year there will be lockdowns all countries in the world?

Ghana imeshaona lockdown ni ufala and has started to open up economy. Its time we thought of ways to live with the virus and return to normalcy.Globally it's not sustainable to close economies for months. Denmark, Germany, and some USA states are opening up.

By May kitakua kimeeleweka.
They are opening up because they managed to significantly flatten the curve. We are just starting to see things climbing, it could be a disaster for us if we do it too early.

People ae saying, oooooooooh, let us open up, his thing is not as serious as we thought!

IT IS NOT A SERIOUS PRECISELY BECAUSE MEASURES WERE TAKEN EARLY TO STOP IT! If those measures are removed now, as the WHO warns, corona could rebound back.

I think the solution is to watch how it evolves until the end of April and then start easing things pole pole. In any case, Kenya was never at total lockdown..........................you can still go to work if you can beat the curfew.............

They have done more than 65k tests with a population of 30 million. They had a strategy. Whats the Kenya's strategy of reopening the economy? And again, they have 'eased movement' in 2 regions not the whole country.

I saw on the media that testing was this morning stepped up in the hotspot counties of Msa, Kilifi and Kwaale as part of the containment measures. Testing is meant to determine extent which informs decisions going forward.

My surprise question - Are those saying we should follow Ghana and reopen part of the 70 per cent we were told in a poll wanted a complete lockdown?

But Ghana is a special case. They are using drone technology to assist them in the testing and so far they have tested 57,000 people. Hapa Kenya tumetest 10k so far. Still a long way to go for us. And what tests are we doing, PCR or Antibody? So I foresee them extending the measures in place from 27th April to 15th May. But one thing for sure is that people will start getting fatigued and protest they want to go back to their businesses liwe liwalo.

Much has been said of the covid 19. Going forward, this virus is and shall be here with us to stay.
So far the best advise would be that each and every person should check on their health and level of fitness. Preventive kind of healthcare should be the norm rather than the current curative one.
Ukilegea kiafya unasonga, hakuna cha kuongea

Because the truth is that the polls were subjective (if at all there were any) only middle class were polled.
How can 70% support total lockdown but also say that they don't have means to survive.

Leta hiyo article tuichambue pamoja and I point out areas that indicate a bias in the research

Exactly but we can see economies opening up despite experiencing Corona deaths and infections.

This is not the 1920s economy that could be sustainable by closure for a few months. As I have earlier stated, kitaeleweka by end of this month.

How long do you project the lockdown will go?may? June? July?
Si umeona education C's saying that postponing exams is not on the table?
Brazil, Denmark,Germany, Australia,Spain are gradually easing restrictions, check how many deaths and infections there are.

Look at Singapore,south Korea,Taiwan.

We are going to live with it,so let's prepare to.

Infact south Korea baseball is starting on Tuesday still with Corona infections.

It takes an year to develop a vaccine, and it is impossible to eradicate it. This corona virus is therefore here to stay, we adapt and live. No more handshake, mask in congested places and be mean with your space. Maisha iendelee. For those who can stay physically fit and avoid stress.
