Nurse hangs herself at her mother's house

A nurse based in Machakos reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her mother's house. The body of the 43-year-old nurse was found dangling from the roof of her mother's house at Manza village, Kangundo sub-county. The deceased reportedly hanged herself with a rope tied to the roof.

Jacinta Kanini Nzioka is said to have ended her own life under unclear circumstances at Manza village in Katine, Kangundo sub-county on Tuesday. Area sub – county police commander Zacharia Bitok said the incident that occurred at around 7. 00 pm was reported to Tala police station as suicide incident report.

“Today at around 7:00pm, I received a call that one Jacinta Kanini Nzioka aged 43 years and a nurse at Matakutha Dispensary was suspected to have committed suicide after her body was found hanging at her mother's house at Manza village, Katine sub-location,” Bitok said on phone.

“The body has been collected and taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary. Investigations are ongoing,” Bitok said.
