A fire at Kenya Power's Musaga Substation in Kakamega County triggered a widespread electricity outage, cutting power to Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya and parts of Vihiga.
The outage began on Friday evening, prompting Kenya Power to dispatch emergency teams to contain the damage while rerouting electricity through alternative supply lines to restore service.
