You do realize the contractor had abandoned the road in 2020 due to lack of budget.

They only restarted in September of 2024 once the fiscal space opened up and money was allocated.

Yes but it is in the interest of the contractor to be paid so it is usually negotiable. That is what happened to get the contractors back to site. GOK secured 300bn from securitization of RMLF and paid contractors an initial sum to get them back to site.

Also good news on the airport saga. Turns out there might be a solution in sight and construction might kick off by the end of the year. Everything was hinging on FB 25/25.

Same here. At least now we have 'political goodwill' (the influential leaders have a slice of the cake) there will be less conflict in implementation of these vital projects.
