This day was supposed to change our lives(at least mine) forever. ACQUIRE THE FIRE millennium bash was going down at the graduation grounds hapo UON and we would be performing alongside other groups and musicians of those days kama Izo, Pete Odera etc.
The uncertainties of what would happen at the stroke of midnight notwithstanding, we were excited, we had VIP passes that came with privileges. The 3 of us got on stage ready to perform. it was playback(can't remember if it was tape or CD) but when the dj started the beat, the lead kept saying he can't hear a thing. I could hear the beat clearly myself but the intro wasn't my part.
Mimi na kimbelembele yangu nikaanza ku rap the intro! the rest din't follow and so we had to start again from the top. It ended miserably for us and that's how my journey to music stardom ended.
**** I still have the tape we recorded, don't have a tape player tho'........sadness of life.

I spent that night on one the highest roof tops in Nairobi enjoying the view all around.. I could give my left testicle to go back to that night for 5 minutes
