New farmer here hoping to get valuable input from you all.
Here is what has already

  1. Land to be farmed fenced (chain link)
  2. Borehole sunk and water is plenty in this area
  3. Solar powered water pump installed and tested
  4. Steel water tanks structure built and 4 10k ltrs plastic tanks hoisted.
  5. Ploughing of 7 acres done

Pending tasks:

Harrowing 7 acres
Creating beans planting beds on 44 blocks of 1/8
acre (30x15mtrs) = 5.5 acres and 3 1/2 acre blocks for onion beds
Drip irrigation piping on the 44 + 3 blocks
Then we will be ready to plant.
 
Good stuff buddy, looks like you are the only one doing something meaningful there. Also think about expansion and buy out your neighbours.

Also get yourself registered for the subsidised fertilizer through the area chief, it will really help

Hio space hapo juu na the open space on the side is supposed to have insect net. Ata fundi mu abandu hajafurahishwa na hio additional day to complete.

What type of beans?
Unaweza saidia na info ya the solar install, how many panels, power rating ya solar system na pump, is pumo dc or ac, model ya inverter or any other eletric devices, costs....

Like Baron Rothschild famously said, the time to buy (or, in your case, invest)) is when there is blood flowing on the streets.
We are currently and presently in a very hostile, ignorant and clueless regime.
Since the Moi era, Kenya has never witnessed such capital flight and reluctance for investment as in this Kenya Kwisha administration.
Their sole obsession is to heavily tax and reward their cronies and stooges.


Brave men, as yourself, are rare and far between. Keep it up and kindly keep us in the loop.

Harrowing ni 7 acres @ 3.5k/acre lakini mwenye tractor anajua ni 5 acres = 17.5k. tractor driver anaonwa zake za macho ana ongeza vitu kama leveling.

I rarely agree with you on many subjects but I am duty bound to express my admiration on your stand on this matter.

Integrity and honesty are contagious and when compromised on one side of the equation, they spill over, albeit uninvited and opposed, to the reciprocal side.

All the same, a most excellent investment @NewFarmer.

That's one way to ruin an investment, ni kama kushuka mat na kushangilia juu conductor hajakuitisha fare (100ksh) ukipanda the next mat unapeana thao konda anahepa na pesa zote, wewe ndio unaenda hasara, ungelipa the first one probably ungepata change ya kulipa wa pili, be honest in all things
