Expatriates have ranked Kenya’s capital Nairobi the best city to work in on the continent, jumping 50 places from last year.

The Expat City Ranking 2021 shows Nairobi also ranks 12 out of 57 cities surveyed in the world, an improvement from 62 out of 66 in 2020.

Nairobi beat other African cities — Cape Town (41), Cairo (52), and Johannesburg (55).

Uhuru has overworked, what he called accelerated growth during the state of the nation address.

Expatriates live among us, drive on same roads we done, go the malls we do, use same broadband, water, power supply etc etc and so if they are happy with the quality of life it means kenyans are enjoying the same quality of life.
I love my city, born here, travelled the World and still chose to come back home but stating that Kanairo is the 12th best city in the World is mere hogwash. I have been in the development space thus worked with expats here on many occasions and yes, they absolutely love it here because they only experience the fine side of Nai which tbh, is really, reaaaaally good.

But the ordinary Nairobian doesn't enjoy such privileges. In fact, most of the 4M residents live in slums and have no access to basic amenities as well as healthcare. I have experienced poverty while living in Eastlands and had better days while schooling in Karen. I know Kanairo very well and even though it's a great place, that is mostly for those with chumz.

Shameless and irrelevant plug, vote for Tim Wanyonyi for ngafana next year of this great city

All those expats can not be wrong. It is you who is wrong.

The ranking surveyed 12,420 respondents in 57 cities.

InterNations, the largest community of expatriates, has more than four million members in 420 cities.

The latest survey analysed five areas of expatriate life — quality of urban towns, getting settled, work-life balance, finance, housing and cost of living, to reveal the likely city of choice for expats to move to in 2022.

I laugh at this comment. Do you know the meaning of the word expatriate?
Do you know how much money these people earn?
Key word is Nairobi is the best city to live in in Africa as long as you got something in your pocket, that part is really true as @mzeiya stated.
Nl hustles, South Africa would have taken it but they have a lot of problems with high crime rate and baridi.

Let me borrow a response @QuadroK4000 is fond of using...

You can never be more wrong
Nionyeshe expatriate anaishi mùkuru, ama Githurai, ama kawangware, coz that is where majority of us live.
Yes, stima is supplied by Kenya Power, but blackouts are more frequent in our mitaas than in Karen.
Same with roads. And water.
Broadband tunaskia na expatriates.

Well of course expats would say that. Their side of Nairobi has country clubs and horse riding and dirt biking and high walls with razor wires protecting them from the other 99%. Btw Nairobi is one of the most coveted diplomatic postings IN THE WORLD. If you're rich (like the demographic in this ranking) of course you'd love it here.

Most expats live in RUNDA and sorrounding areas. Do you know what RUNDA means?

Go find out and then come tell me we live in the same neighbourhoods.
If you go defend some things, have some facts behind the defence.
