Nairobi needs to do better for pedestrians

This week, I have been going to Westlands and manze jo, the contractor who developed the Expressway did a very shoddy in relation to the old road.
The upper deck road is pleasant and useful, but huko chini ni machos tupu. Potholes, illegal turns, and worst of all, no regard for those who walk. Yaani hakuna footpath at all. Inabidi watu wtembelee barabara ya motorized transport that has crazy mathrees and bodas flouting all manner of traffic laws.

It's a sad state when you consider that..

Also, the situation replicates itself in most urban areas. Pic below I took nikielekea mtaani two Satos ago though it was meant to capture the hideous Axela in front, it depicts how most of our walking places look like.

Hopefully, as can be more mindful and improve on the existing infrastructure to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.

Ironically, roads that barely have walking users are usually up to standard, such as the Upper Hill's Lower Hill Road 👇🏾

Hapo Kabuagi as you branch to Karen Road already kuna pot holes less than one year after the road was redone
And to imagine the VP lives along Karen Road. Anyway, Uhuru kinda made a lot of progress. Recently I was in Baba Dogo using Kasarani Stadium back road all the way to Korogocho and Kariobangi North. The roads are well done. Also, saw two of the mtaa hospitals launched by Jameson 1. Real progress.

Kinda true. However it's just the stretch between Daystar/City Mortuary and Junction Mall/Meteorological Dept.
The Japanese did an excellent job, but our local authorities decided to ruin the huko mbele. Ata road markings hakuna jo.
The people who designed or built or oversaw that stretch of Ngong Road from Junction to Karen need to be shot.
