Health CAS Rashid Aman in a presser announced 551 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 4,675 tested in the last 24hours.
Positivity rate is now at 11.7%
Nairobi county leads with 212 new Covid-19 cases followed by Kilifi 39, Mombasa 35, Nyeri 33, Embu 30, Nandi 25, Machakos 22, Siaya 21, Kajiado 19, Kiambu 18, Lamu 16, Nyandarua 14, Turkana 11, Uasin Gishu 8, Taita Taveta 7, Kisumu 7, Garissa 6, Meru 6, Kwale 5, Samburu 5, Murang'a 3, Mandera 2,Nakuru 2, Busia, Laikipia, Kakamega, Wajir and Tharaka Nithi had single cases each.
On a good note, 266 patients have recovered from the virus bringing the country's total recoveries to 18,146.
A total of 1,275 patients have been admitted in several hospitals across the country. 8,070 are on Home-based Care; the CAS said.
Today, another 5 patients died. Total deaths now at 1474.
Health CAS Rashid Aman urged citizens to follow guidelines provided by Ministry of Health to help in controlling the spread of the virus. He also said that well the vaccine will be ready, healthcare workers will be given the first priority.
