Mwiki Residents Protesting Bad Roads, Again.

This morning, commuters on the Kasarani-Mwiki stretch were force to walk to work as PSV operators went on strike protesting the bad state of the road that links Mwiki suburb to Thika road. The PSV operators obstructed the road with burning tires and stones in a bid to draw attention to what has become an yearly occurrence for close to a decade. Residents claim repair tenders for the road have become a favorite cash-cow for rogue construction firms and politicians in the area. They are now calling for the road tender to be given to a Chinese contractor so that they can enjoy a long-lasting road.

Looks like craters in the moon.

Strangely demos for the Kasarani-Mwiki road to be repaired happen almost yearly, then a contractor is hurriedly mobilized, does some shoddy patchwork and lays a tarmac recarpet the thickness of a tongue, matatu drivers, motorists, residents all become happy and lives go back to normal till the next rains restore the road to it's default moon craters surface.
Rinse and repeat, we live in a beautiful country.

Kutembea kutoka Mwiki hadi Roysambu si ni distance ndefu sana. It's better to connect to njiru halafu mtu achukue za Kangundo Rd.

I'm not surprised by the potholes, I just think it's FANNY that it's raining in January.!..
