This now begs the question, can county assemblies enact laws that supercede the constitution of the land in their jurisdictions?

Also, why haven't North Eastern and upper Eastern counties taken the same stance yet they're massive consumers of the 🌿?

They're the very fuckers who have been on codeine for a long time and other drugs since their religion hasn't proscribed them yet.

They have every right to protect their kids if it's making their kids zombies. Health is a devolved function; they may not ban it but place exorbitant fees and charges that business may stop making sense...kama haiwezi haiwezi... Talk to them nicely they'll def open up.

I think hutembeangi slums; my job allows me from time to time and yes it does, it's an accompaniment drug, never used alone.... Sell them in Nairobi/Central and NE. The market is huge and still free. As for Coastal region talk to them as peers, if it fails it's ok..we move on.

That is exactly what I didn't include in my reply. People consume it alongside other drugs. Based on your observations and knowledge, is it the muguka that turns them into zombies or the accompanying drug (often alcohol, nicotine/cigarettes, bhang etc)?

If we had a control of an individual chewing miraa alone, would we observe the same zombie behaviour?

I know livelihoods are affected by the matter, but putting emotive substances on the side I think we can confidently say khat affects mental faculties of it's users. There's research and articles all over I don't need to quote. That said the accompaniment part is still a danger in itself; there's failure in national policing at eradicating hard drugs but Khat/muguka can't say they are exempt from contributing to the drug menace, if you study the youth who are rowdy it's never too far. For those with some sense, they simply wake up in the morning till late just leveraging on "taxsing" (sp) high ...It's a drug just as alcohol. Best way out is lobby the the leadership to chill on the product coz they have grounds to regulate it if they so choose.

My issue is not the livelihood, rather the hypocrisy associated with this purported ban. If we are saying muguka affects the mental faculties, then what about alcohol and cigarettes. Not only do they affect the mental faculties of adults but unborn kids as well. Do we ban alcohol and cigarettes as well?

If we are talking regulation, are people under 18 yrs old actively using muguka? Does the law restrict sale of muguka to under 18's? If not, then that law should be enacted and enforced.

Let's not act like eating muguka is the vice finishing the youth, because it is not.

Must have been for you to 'cut' the high (steam/Raru as we used to call it), you must use alcohol, back then we had razz, Mericane, Kenya cane and Kenya king, for the coasters it's weed, diaspharm(sp) Methadone, coke and heroin to 'cut' the kurarukiwa, depending with your favourite addiction.

😅😅 Umenikumbusha ata. I came across my uncles book, the one people used to sign when leaving highschool, and it had a portion for favourite drug. I saw way to many instances of cocaine there.
