I have a friend in the clinical nursing department. One day as we were imbibing he told me some story.
He used to operate a clinic in Kahawa West. One day a fellow who used to be his client came and requested to see him privately to which he obliged.
They went inside the consultative room. He had a peculiar request. Apparently he had a brother who had been shot in action in Naivasha. Now the brother could not access govt hospitals since clearly he had a gunshot wound on his hand. In his own words ni kama mkono ilikuwa imeenda yote.
Now he had to operate on him so that he could go back to ocha and nurse his injuries.
This was too risky, if he failed to operate on the guy, he was afraid he would get shot. If word reached the authorities he was a marked man but he feared death more than the govt so he chose money and chose wisely.
He was paid 50k by the brother which was enough by the time to buy a plot in Juha.
When the injured guy was gone the well meaning brother opened up to him that they had tried to warn the guy to change his wayward ways to no avail.
Kumbe he was always saying that he was doing it as a last mission. Nigga had several plots in Kahawa which were bringing him a tidy coin but the money was like a curse coz he would always go back. I bet he loved the adrenaline when executing the task gauging the deadly nature of the job.
On this particular date him and his colleague encountered some wardens on patrol. His thuggish friend was shot dead on sight. On his part he gunned down one of the rangers and in the process, he nearly had his hand blown off. He managed to escape leaving the remaining warden fighting for his life.
The thuggish brother went to recuperate back to his village.
One day my clinical friend was reading a newspaper when an article caught his eye. It was about the story of a poaching gone wrong with the details matching. He put one and two together and was thankful that he he was still alive.
