Simply poor governance and corporate leadership. There's no single explanation why Kenya Power should run at losses. They hardly rely on thermal power meaning geothermal and hydro power plants are sufficient 80% of the time. That's before we factor in UG and Ethiopia cheap power.
Plain incompetence from a monopoly, nothing else. Story za oil and dollar rates ni jaba!! Kenya Power should strive to make Kenya an investment hub as opposed to what we are witnessing, an investment flight, of course KRA is the other mad institution....

We shall tax highly on solar equipment to prevent many from withdrawing from Kenya Power. The Government can't lose taxes. We need money to hasten development plans
