Mombasa Road Economy

It's Me Scumbag

Elder Lister
Anybody who has sat in the Mombasa Road jams particularly the stretch from Nyayo to Museum must have had a magazine, jumpers, wipers, a pair of goggles, biscuits, waters bottles or something thrust into the open window by hawkers trying hard to make a sale.
Now,with the construction of the expressway,it is expected that the infamous jams will be no more.
So what will happen to all those hawkers where the cars are wheeling past them fast and only stopping for the traffic lights for a few seconds.
Before the construction started, there was claim that the jams are created by traffic cops to help the hawkers make a sale. For a fee of course.
What will be the effect on these hawkers once the highrise road is done?
