Mimi siwezi kusema Mombasa is dying. Zaidi ya 500 years it has been in existence and then it suddenly dies, just like that? It is my opinion that Mombasa is just smack at the centre of an other redefining period, yaani it is undergoing changes in many ways all at the same time and many people are finding it hard to keep adapt. After a few years the ones who are running away now because they can't keep up will find a very different Mombasa than the one they left behind.
By the way, which other city in East Africa that has so many mega projects going on? Roads, high rise buildings, etc? The ones you will count Mombasa is not above number 5! And when they start developing the free port at Dongo Kundu....
