Kitui: Police officers forced to sprint for safety after suspect unleashed bees mid-arrest
By Sharon Namarome | August 27, 2
A video circulating online has left Kenyans amused after police officers were reportedly forced to flee a swarm of bees while attempting to arrest a man in Kwa Vonza, Kitui County.
According to reports accompanying the footage, the officers had arrived at the man's compound to make an arrest, apparently expecting a routine operation.
However, the situation quickly took an unexpected turn when a swarm of bees emerged, forcing the officers into a hurried retreat.
In the footage, some of the officers appear to be carrying what look like rungus as they run in different directions, seemingly trying to escape the insects.
The officers, who moments earlier appeared to be in control of the operation, could be seen sprinting away as the bees closed in.
Judging by the footage, the bees appeared to have disrupted the operation, with the officers retreating at speed.
However, the circumstances surrounding the attempted arrest remain unclear. It is not immediately known what offence the man was wanted for, why the officers went to his compound, or whether police eventually succeeded in taking him into custody.
