Mistaken identity, Another Family Loses 2 Sons

Wezi wa Mali ya umma wako huku nje free as the birds of the air mutawamaliza lini?

Mob justice is disproportionate, unnecessarily cruel and deeply unjust, and that is before cases of mistaken identity are factored in. I know of two innocent people lynched by mobs in the heat of the moment, how are those families supposed to take it when their kin is the subject of a great (irreversible) injustice in the pursuit of "justice" in crude fashion?
it is a double edged sword, what would you tell a family whose son was killed by thugs because of 500 shillings only. I listen to Ghetto radio alot and a lot of those lynchings are usually on point for those who were caught guilty and even some confess that they could have easily killed.

people accused of public theft are out he for the same reason petty violent and armed robbers are out here too....the law does not work or works in a skewed fashion.

Guys it will be quite some time before this Maasais are civilized so in case you ever find yourself in such a situation here are some pointers;

1.Stay calm do NOT panic try as much as possible to deescalate the situation. This is no time for dick measuring contests. Also do not shown signs of cowardice be firm but respectfull.
2. If stranded approach them before they approach you. Clearly explain your situation and ask for help.
3.Immediately offer monetary compensation if involved in an accident with their cattle,hand over your car keys as security to calm their nerves.
4. Do not argue with them you wont win.

You speaking as a survivor or as a ndauwo?

Maybe it is time we adopted the English approach on these matters:

If for instance you parked your car in a neighbourhood where you are not known and they suspected you of being no good, they will jam the local police telephone switchboard with calls till the police attend.

God help you if you break down and leave your car overnight in such a neighbourhood. By the time you come the following day you will find it plastered all over with police posters to the effect POLICE AWARE to dissuade people from constantly calling the police about it.

We desperately need to leave these matters to the police and not take the place of the Prosecutor, Judge and Jury.

Me and my uncle were tasked with going to a village where 1 of our tipper drivers had killed a young girl in an accident. We went there in a bid to stop the villagers from burning down the truck,the driver had actually run away from the site. You can imagine the accident was around 10 am and we arrived there around 11am to a crowd of angry mourning villagers.To say the least we went there just the 2 of us and at the end we peacefully negotiated with the elders and deescalated the situation. Took part in the burial and they actually helped us pull out the truck from the ditch the driver swerved into.Wild stuff. It's all about presentation,eloquence and calmness.
