That old train niliwahi panda as a kid in 1999 from Kisumu to Nairobi we took 48 hours.

There used to be two trains from Msa. One at 6pm which was called fagia juu ya stopping at all stations and the Express one which left at 7pm.
By 8am zote zilikuaga zinafika nrb.

Yes, from the Kisumu Branch. The main line went through Eldoret to Malaba and Tororo (U). Other branch lines were for Taveta, Magadi, Nanyuki, Nyahururu, Rongai to Solai, Kitale.

Actually the Railways also used to supply free water to residents on the Magadi line during drought at KMQ, Elang'ata Wuas, Singiraini, Mile 46 and Koora.
