What is KE mafia govt doing to encourage this industry growing? = Nothing
Last I followed, the mobius guys are begging the govt to be reasonable with their tax demands, to allow the sector lift off the ground. Lakini wapi the forces that be will never consider it, despite the potential the sector holds in providing jobs for Kenyans and even earning of foreign revenue through exports to our neighboring countries.
I have a feeling the big Japanese players have a hand in the frustration mobius is facing.
In other countries, China and Europe, the govt is giving incentives to citizens to go electric and ditch their petrol vehicles...
In India importing a car is reserved for the very wealthy.
Local productions and assemblies are what they drive and prices are very fair for brand new cars.

I have been to their showroom on Mombada Rd. Tembea, very welcoming people.

What I liked about the Mobius II was the focus on a simple bare bones design for reliability, making it easy to repair and maintain. The engine from what I gathered was Chinese made based on a Toyota design. One of the honchos over there previously worked with french manufacturers, so I would be hopeful some of the design of the original made for Africa (peugeot 504) would seep into the Mobius.

The Mobius 3 packs up more conveniences. 4WD seems like a welcome addition, but inclusion of a turbo charger comes with tradeoffs in reliability I would guess. But I guess the target market here is the more high-end luxury segment.
