Matiangi the sixth in Kisii

Ideally, we all would want to have a fresh start with new faces. But how practical is that as the situation stands? You saw Ruto spending millions just to be seen with crowds in central. That is the first step to hoodwinking the rest of the country that he is still popular in a region where people believe he has the least support.

Risking another Ruto term by pursuing ideals could be too costly for everyone. You and me and another might vote for a new face but what good will it do if Ruto can buy 20 other villagers? As someone said, if we have to go for regional arithmetic to remove Ruto, it will be forgivable because if we don't, it will take us about 20 years to recover from the damage he will cause.

Lastly, Kenyans have been emboldened a great deal and will resist and call out anyone who acts against their interests. That spirit is not about to die. Gradually, people will have the leadership they deserve. By electing Ruto, people were expressing that desire. Only that he turned out to be worse than the bad we know. Ruto has collected enough money to buy entire regions and he is intent on using it. So, we are facing an extraordinary situation that might require compromises.
Right now, almost anyone else can win in a contest of the two. This idea of catering to rural villagers to win elections is being turned on its head, many people are enlightened, including the youth. You say Ruto's team bought voters, is it different from the lead up to 2022? What do you see now?

Under ideal conditions, anyone would beat Ruto. But in the real world, many other factors come into play. Kwa hii forum tukipiga kura anytime Ruto hawezi shinda ata mara moja. That is the ideal situation. But in reality, what do you think would happen if Ruto were allowed to 'pitch his candidature' to members individually. You can already see what he has done with Nyanza, the last region one would expect to support him.

Ruto is a devious schemer. He knows he can lie convincingly to a good percentage of the population and then buy others to attain what he needs to win. If whoever competes against Ruto is not supported by a joint opposition, it is likely he will find his way back. And don't count on a rerun because that is something he would avoid at all costs.

Best photo I've seen. The usual statehouse tea inaonja mwarubaine

The current state of affairs is the consequence of the siasa za kawaida ya wakenya. Many Kenyans have learnt their lesson the hard way solidified in June 2024, and a new generation is rising up.

The only way out is a total overhaul of the leadership, not the illusion of choice given to you by foreign entities. Ruto vs Matiang'i means either option will keep kenyans enslaved by debt for decades, possible for the foreseeable future. This debt will prevent Kenya choosing a path of prosperity independently of the debt owners i.e. the current owners of the Imperial British East Africa Company.

Make it make sense, why is it that money collected from Kenyans is immediately funneled to offshore accounts, building foreign economies? Why is it that a lot of the so-called debt never landed in the country in the first place to be managed under constitutional processes?
