Kisumu County, Kisumu Central Sub-County, Kisumu Central Police Station, Buspark Police Post. Subject: Shooting Incident Report. Refer to OB.No. 6/5/3/2021at 0837 hours. Today at around 0820 hours, No.61835 S/Sgt Joel Migiro was controlling traffic at Bus Park round about near Kisumu Boys High School, and was accosted by one male person wearing a marvin on his head, with only the eyes visible, and gloves on both hands. He disarmed the officer and the officer struggled with him but was overpowered. He shot the officer on his pelvic and the bullet exited through the stomach. The officer was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu for treatment. His condition is serious but stable. The perpetrator entered the Bus Park and was shooting aimlessly before entering Yasmin Hotel. One officer attached to buspark followed him up and grabbed him,and with the help of the members of the public he was subdued and a ceska pistol s/no. H 3946 with no rounds of ammunition recovered.He was subjected to mob injustice and died immediately. On search of his body, three national identification bearing different names were recovered from him as follows
1.Glen Ochieng Ojwang, National identity card number 37170000 date of birth 2000 believed to be his.
2.Joseph Otieno Masaka, National identity card no. 30907236
3. Joseph Ondeng Mutula, National identity card no. 4842454.
It was further established that the perpetrator shot the following people as well:-
1. Martin Wasonga Wachanje,aged about 42 years, a Ugandan citizen, fatally shot in the abdomen
2. Jared Ouma Jabuya Luo male adult aged about 47 years, fatally shot in the chest.
The two above died on arrival at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital. Their bodies are being preserved there.
3.Hezbon Okoth Luo male adult aged about 23years had gun shot wounds on both legs below the knees- condition stable
4.Elly Ochieng Luo Male adult aged 22 years had an injury on his left hand index finger
5.Lilian Awino Luo female adult aged 35 years had gun shot wound on both legs and her Condition stable.
6. One male person whose only name was found as Kashkin was shot on the head and is in a very serious condition. The last above four are being treated at Kisumu County Hospital. The scene was visited by the SCCIO Kisumu Central, Stapol Kisumu Central Police Station, OCPP BusPark and Scenes of crime personnel who processed it.More progress report to follow.
