According to Njabini OCPD Peter Nzimbi, the estranged man slashed his 17-year-old daughter to death using a machete at Munyaka trading centre in Kinangop, Nyandarua.

Mr Nzimbi said the daughter was attacked while returning to their rented house after escorting her two siblings to school.

The man later rushed to his nearby home in Nyakio village where he used a rope to hang himself.

“The couple had fallen out forcing the woman to relocate to Munyaka centre where the man caught up with her, slashing her with a machete before killing the daughter,” said the police boss.

How can men build resilience when things fail to go their way?

Sure, sometimes ni mwiba wa kujidunga ambao hauna pole like this ninja who has decided to be a motivational speaker pale MKZ, after taking back a cheating woman, knowing very well that kunguru hafugiki.

But what about those men who are in a dark place and not out of their own making? How can we help each other so that mtu akiwa in a dark place, they don't end up doing the unthinkable? These are the questions that keep me awake at night sometimes coz society iko na hii shida sana.

Three very interesting philosophical questions you have raised there @mzeiya.
Unfortunately, as with all human behaviour, it is very hard to understand why People react differently and subjectively to different provocations and stimuli as opposed to a standard and objective humane response.
Sometimes People are mentally unstable or defective while at other times People are malicious and their actions premeditated.

That said, as human beings we all expect civility, moderation and well-thought-out-and-measured responses from our fellow human beings in our everyday interactions.

Since I can only give you a legal response, let me leave you this quotation which is an authority on homicide and provocation:

“A Person should exercise such powers of self-control as everyone is entitled to expect that his fellow citizens will exercise in society as it is today.
My Lords, I share the concern that this should happen. For the protection of the public, the law should continue to insist that people must exercise self-control. A person who flies into a murderous rage when he is crossed, thwarted or disappointed in the vicissitudes of life should not be able to rely upon his anti-social propensity as even a partial excuse for killing” (Lord Diplock)
