Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who is facing murder charges has been released on Sh4 million cash bail in Gumbao Jola murder case. Her body guard was released on Sh1.5 million
The DPP last week had approved murder charges against Aisha and her body guard.
The Legislator was linked to a fatal shooting after chaos erupted during by- election campaigns in Ganda Ward, Kilifi County in October 2019.
Aisha Jumwa has been in and out of the courts for the better part of 2020 following different charges including CDF fraud case.
Early last month, she said the government was fighting her because she is a supporter of DP Ruto after she spent nights in police custody following her arraignment and other CDF officials in her constituency.
Aisha won her Malindi seat with an ODM ticket but things fell apart after she was expelled from the party in May 2019, for gross misconduct. She constantly followed the DP around which was against the party rules.
