KQ A310

This flight was supposed to be out of Kenyan airspace by now having departed NBO a few minutes to 1900 hrs. It turned back near Wajir and is now circling around Machakos. Perhaps dumping fuel for an emergency landing.

Praying for the best.

The incidents are now just too frequent. I recently used KQ from Yurop. Departure time was 5:15pm. Then they WhatsApped me saying it's 7:15pm. We boarded at 8pm. The plane left at 10:30pm. Reason was Engineer anafanya repairs. My friend who was coming a week later using KQ had their flight cancelled.

Don't know why but as a pilot in an emergency I'd have chosen to have that emergency landing in Dubai than at JKIA. Me thinks if shit was to hit the proverbial fan it'd rather hit us from DXB, longer runways, and better emergency response and equipment.

Hii ni Kenya. I'd say there is no point of safe return, come back, dump fuel ready for an emergency landing when you have just enough fuel for landing and maybe a second attempt, BLACKOUT!!! You don't have enough fuel to take you to an alternative airport and the generators will kick in after only 30 minutes, which is an improvement from 2hours but you don't have enough fuel to last 5 minutes. An emergency landing now shifts from a simple emergency to a deadly situation. Communication and coordination of emergency services is also hampered by the loss of power on the ground.
