Why I blocked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade

While Kefa's aim of chatting with Mr Kenyatta was thwarted, the incident has elevated him to prominence.

You have to give it to the Guy. He is smart and smooth. And he milks every opportunity to his advantage.
Many other Presidents would have looked the other way as this man was being roughed up. In some countries the man would have been charged with endangering the life of the President.
Even in the USA or UK, the Guy angekipata and the least he would have gotten is a charge of Jaywalking.
Hata kuna countries where he would have been shot.

Another observation from this incident:
The message of family planning is not reaching many people. Even young people who one would think would see the sense thereof. How do young people with no job, business or wherewithal go ahead to have three children? And in Ngomongo of all places?
Aren’t people burying their heads in the sand here? Or do Folks have a don’t care attitude?

Our family programs are, this many years post-independence, donor-funded.
There has been a push towards the long-term injectable methods which no one wants coz of side effects and delayed return to fertility on cessation e.g. for the purpose of conception. That's why the Ngara 'herbal contraception' conmen still find an audience, and customers, almost 1.5 decades later.
Contraception commodities supply in public facilities is inconsistent and unreliable. Up north, religion rears its ugly head.
The poor are wont to use coitus as a form of entertainment (?) with the attendant consequences.

Stop doubting and second guessing yourself. The 'poor' do actually use coitus as the only source of entertainment in the absence of kwona mbee and keshas...

In my book there is no excuse whatsoever why a young person who have gone to school should fail to plan their family.
After all family planning is not rocket science but just old pure common sense. You get the number of children you can adequately cater for - no gambling no guesswork no chancing!

This is the same attitude you find in some Kenyan men who patronise such establishments as SJ, Modern Green and OTC and proceed to go ahead and nut without condomizing hoping against hope that they won’t contract something nasty.

To hell with those religious zealots who confuse followers on this issue. After all, those kadhis and sheikhs don’t feed, cloth or educate your brood. It’s your personal responsibility.

But I do agree with you, @Luther12, that the GOK has never taken ownership of the Family Planning Narrative. The reason is not hard to find: Politicians are two faced on issues family planning because they wank when they see children knowing those are potential votes but on the other side of their mouth they advocate family planning because it is GOK policy.
