I don't trust palm and canola oil. The health risks associated with them are too many, not to mention the number of chemicals used in their extraction. Kwanza for canola those chemicals are used to make it less poisonous. Rapeseed (canola) is toxic to begin with!
Btw, Golden Fry quietly switched the source of it's oil from maize/corn to palm oil and told no-one.
If you can, try to push mama to educate herself on oils. Aim for cold pressed oils rather than processed oils. Pay more for oil now and less for hospital in the future.
The closer one gets to 50, the more the results of bad eating earlier in life start showing. Most "young people" in their 30's and 40's don't see it until it's too late. So the excuse is usually, "Nilikula Kasuku tangu nikuwe mtoi na niko sawa".Tulikula Joma na Kasuku solid na bado vitals ziko sawa tu.
It's the worst but as long as uko hai bro. Kama huwezi avoid, utafanyaje?@kijanamrefu this is very informative nanii.....kuna venye hii situation ya Covid imenichapa 10 - Nil nikarudi kwa mafuta ya solid banae. Hyo nayo madhara yake ni gani haswaa??
"Which vegetable?" is the question you should ask.My household uses vegetable oil. Wacha nione kama budget itakubali for a change
Hehehe. Soma thread, mafuta si mafuta.@kijanamrefu mimi mafuta ni mafuta, ebu sasa tufunze about table salt.
Msito, anzisha a segment on health even if at least once a week.Hehehe. Soma thread, mafuta si mafuta.
Excessive intake of salt is linked to hypertension (high blood pressure) which is then associated with heart disease, stroke etc. particularly in people of African descent.
Btw, salt sio ile ya kuongeza tu. Kuna salt nyingi sana especially in processed foods. Even your average managu ya kibanda huwa imejazwa chumvi. Your bread has salt, your tomato sauce has salt, your blueband has salt.
The terrible thing about all this is that salt tends to be addictive to people, after all, taste is one of our only remaining pleasures kwa hii dunia.
Aaah I am curious to see how boiled sukuma wiki without salt tastes likeI'm going boilo all the way. No frying with any mafuta. Will be adding a few herbs and spices along the way to make food interesting. No added salt either.

Hujawai skia the phrase 'add salt to taste'? Hata autocorrect iko nayo kwa keyboard.Lots of tomatoes, some carrots, pilipili, ginger, garlic and some vinegar
