Deputy President William Ruto has said he is now interested in serving for 5 years only, and not ten.

While revisiting remarks by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who previously said he will serve for 10 years and hand over to him to also serve for 10 years, Ruto appealed to Kenyans to give him one term.

He said after five years, Kenyans will decide whether they will add him an additional five years or look for another person depending on his performance.


"Tumekua na mjadala ambayo rais wetu alituambia yake kumi na yangu kumi. Lakini mimi sitaki kumi, nataka tuandikane hii ya miaka tano kwanza. Nikifaulu kufanya kazi kwa hii miaka tano mniongeze ingine. Nikishindwa mtafute mtu mwingine," Ruto said while meeting Nyeri residents.

Loosely translates to: " There has been a debate on the president's remarks that he will serve for 10 years and hand over to me to serve for 10 years also. But I want to say, I dont want 10 years. Just give me five years first after which you will decide to give me an additional term depending on my performance".

If KE votes this guy in, it would be the most stupid thing to do.
So much rot is openly in the air for people to not vote him in.
The dam, the maize scandals are way to expensive to ignore.

Was he implicated in those two scandals ama ni hearsay za watu? I thought even the DPP said he's not being investigated in the dam scandal. I know objectivity is thrown out the window when politics is discussed. If there's evidence of his participation in Aror si atupwe ndani basi?

Halafu why was Rotich let off the hook? I mean, wasn't he nabbed with his fingers in the jar?

Meanwhile, we have a family directly linked to graft but people pretend to look the other way.

This is the year of bashing those whom we don't like or our political masters don't agree with....if he has stolen he should be prosecuted asap.
 
Someone who has been convicted by a court of law for stealing land from an IDP bado mnasema wizi wake ni hearsay? If you applied for any job in govt hata kama ni mwalimu, polis, messenger etc and had such a blot on your cv you'd never be hired. And he is shamelessly applying to be rais. Arushwe nje mara moja.

There is also confessed theft of wesdon land, jogoo Rd railways land where Easton apartments are, processional way road that he surrendered etc etc.

I can never hire someone convicted of theft to run my kiosk or sacco and certainly as a voter can never hire such a person to run the country.

Hehe...unatetea a known thief, mwenye hata hafichangi, na hakataangi? Wasn't his title deeds for Ruai cancelled because they were grabbed? Isn't he the only senior govt official having caught red handed having grabbed land of an IDP? What of weston? #MansDeservePublicExecution just the way we do to the thieves in the villages

He is blinded by tribal loyalty. When moi looted kfa, kcc, kmc, kenya seed etc, the biggest victims were his own people. It is kibaki who revived all those institutions and put money back in those rv farmers. So selecting a CONVICTED thief to run your affairs isn't a wise decision.

Bruh, no one has been overlooked, all these families are thieves. Does that mean we cannot mention any ill about anyone because he's not the only one, others are also dirty?
This guy wants to be our next president and you're holding the bar so low. Especially after the past 10 years we've been through.
