Simon Karuga Ndirangu, 28, is making the medical device using three 3D printers producing 3,000 pieces per day. The 4th-year biotechnology student has priced the nasal swabs at Ksh100 each.

This is what happens when you provide facilities and opportunities for young people. A lot can be said about the lifestyle of young people in Kenya, but their innovation with the little they have is unquestionably fantastic.

So let us just say it is a step towards greatness for the student if he does not get stuck at printing swabs alone
