One of the most in-demand Kenyan musicians in the business is KING KANJA, whose real name is Kanja Muchoki, who was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, after being born to Kenyan parents in London, he has been touring the globe since he was 15 years old, showcasing his distinctive sound.

He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, but regularly travels to London and Kenya. KING KANJA is well-known for fusing African polyrhythmic music, hip-hop, R&B, and reggae with his native Kikuyu and Swahili languages.

Arranged for a Coca-Cola ad to be filmed in Kenya, collaborated with Chucky Thompson, a member of Bad Boy Entertainment's "Hitmen" in-house production crew in the 1990s, and Bad Boy mogul Sean Combs on songs for artists including Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G. under the guidance of Tony Washington, vice president of advertising sales at Reach One Media, a branch of Radio One, who came up with the concept to perform the Cathy Hughes-inspired song CATHY.
