I wonder how you can remain optimistic in face of all the incompetencies displayed by our police, politicians, president, judges and common mwananchi.

I am a realist, the incompetent police, politicians, judges and common mwananchi are all Kenyans. There are also competent Kenyans in all the above mentioned categories.

They behave the same in case they are required where thugs have guns. Kenyan cops are known to drag their feet if the thugs have guns even in urban areas, not just in the countryside.
