Our program was like that only that CHURCH WAS NOT OPTIONAL!
Outings were once a month. Movies and 'bull dance' on alternate Saturdays.

I tell you. But you have to give it to the school admin for being on top of things and being in a position to know everything that was going on at any one time. This is what is lacking in today's school administrators.

This was pretty much the schedule we had except for optional Sunday service. New principal added preps, debates and assessment tests all weekend and students almost went on strike.
Some of these school heads don't know how stressful it is to work all week and not have a restful weekend. They only care about school mean grades.

We need progressive counselors to identify the source of stress, we can not dismiss burning of 100 schools as acts of indiscipline. We need to know what has changed and why are the student feeling overwhelmed when in our time it was easy. What has changed and how does it affect them, blame game won't solve anything. Is it exposure to bad influence, hard economic times, the environment most of these student are being brought up in.
