So the last couple of months has seen alot of entertainers given the silver button by youtube hapa Kenya.

Guys are really pushing out content and they are making headway, the tv and radio industry are quietly dying, fewer and fewer people are watching tv these days.

Guys like the wajesus family, andrew kibe, Djmoh, desagu, gatwiri...etc this is a new era na haitaki ujuaji mob.

The entertainment is big enough to accomodate everybody! Congrats to everybody winning and getting recognition

Traditional entertainment media people who struggled for decades like:

are getting the shocks of there lives when they see kids coming out of nowhere and in 6 months making more money then they themselves made the entire 1980s and 90s (2 decades).

Ati just since covid19 came, Jalas is talking about multi million ksh payments from YT
and showing off serious assets.

Hao were just used badly, there was money in media in the 80s and 90s but unfortunately their blood and sweat was eaten by few individuals, this is evident if you look at the kenya music society or something like that when it purports to pay artists 1,500 as income for an entire year

This new media manenoz are providing opportunity for creative types to completely bypass traditional GATEKEEPER'S who were feeding off new entrants blood.

Kwanza those gatekeepers are even more shocked then the older artisans.

Before if you did not agree to their terms, they could tell you to your face "hakuna mahali utaenda"

Imenikumbusha Mzee akiambia watu wa Telekom/Landline back in the late 90s kuwa their time is nearly over, but to them they didn't understand how that would materialise. Walikuwa wamezoea kuchelewa kufanya repairs on telephone lines for up to 2 weeks.

As much as it has been an income generator for the young, a lot of the content is non sense. Slowly they'll find their way, putting up new and interesting content regularly isn't so easy.
