Individualistic neighborhood

We have some problem ya drainage in my community.I came up and sent a message to a group of my neighbors that if we can put funds together , we will be able to put some drainage pipes that will drain all the water to a wetland somewhere.

Did my analysis and realized that it will cost 300,000 inclusive labor and if you divide by 30 of us it will cost 10k each. All neighbors are top civil servants by the way except me . Jamaa walikataa. Now mvua ikanyesha juzi, it flooded their houses to the core . They came looking for me to provide details ya contractor but I said contractor will charge 600,000 up from 300,000.(this was meant to teach them a lesson)

Months ago I told them every compound needs camera so that we can see who walks in right from the gate mpaka mwisho... walikataa... what followed was a series of car break in, theft, . Recently I saw some of them starting to install. Funny thing is that they make those cameras just face their doors only and nothing facing main street !!!! I had installed one camera in my bed sitter house 😁 but I want one round the building(still negotiating with my contractor @Doc oga ) .

Anyway this bonobo culture we have is abhorrent. Do we have to face crisis to reason. Most kenyans always think that whoever's comes up with an idea to benefit the community wants to benefit selfishly. We are always suspicious of each other. It's a wrong bonobo culture.

This is true, sijui mbona watu husumbua vitu za ufala hivi. I once lived mahali landlord alikuwa don't care mbaya, but his rent was very competitive so hakuna mtu alitaka kuhama. Takataka na watchman ni sisi tenants tulikuwa tuna organise. Tukapata mjinga mmoja who refused to contribute for both, takataka ni tricks coz ataiweka hapo near the gate na isipochukuliwa itaoza. But security, hapa mjinga met wajinga. We instructed the watchmen to never open the gate for his car, jamaa ashuke kwa gari ajifungulie. One night sijui nini ilimshtua when he came home past midnight, jamaa alianza kulipa

That is the only language Kenyans understand "forced crisis"

that culture is very wrong, we're so individualistic even car pooling is very hard.
security kila mtu ajipange, drainage na garbage ni kazi ya kanjo hiyo ndo mentality ya bonobos.,even water pipes guys can't come together and push the pipe to their locality.

Sema unaishi plot ya nyumba kumi kama uwesukimwi.
Just install one na itaonyesha plot yote hadi kwa sink ya community

Shida kubwa sana, I don't know if my area guys will accept the drainage idea, we are still struggling on the road issue, vile kumenyesha, Japanese cars are having a tough time. You need a 4*4.
Good thing we have a proactive group, pesa ndio slow kiasi.

Afadhali unity hata kama pesa hakuna. Asubihi I see these civil servants going to work kama wamenyonga tie yet ujinga na ubonobo wamejaza kwa kichwa yao. I call them "bonobo is passing " in whisper as they pass na those Japanese cars .
